Aurora in Sydney

P&O Aurora is getting set to join Arcadia and Oriana as a ship exclusively for adults from April 2019.

At present P&O offer to ships as Adult Only and then come April 2019 the Aurora is making the change as well. P&O Cruises senior vice president Paul Ludlow said:

“All our ships have the signature elements of dining, service and great destinations. However, P&O Cruises is all about choice, whether our guests want the fantastic range of activities and children’s clubs on our family-friendly ships or prefer the peace and serenity of our adult-only ships.”Aurora Lounge

“With Aurora becoming a ship exclusively for adults, we are offering our guests even more choice which means they can choose the holiday experience that is absolutely the right one for them.”

I Like Cruise Ships View

So, My question is.. What does everyone make of this. Now if you’ve cruised P&O before that will come and no surprise. And adding another Adult Only ship is a good thing. Considering the current passenger demographics.

One of the hot topics to come out of this I think, will be the situation where people have already book a cruise after the change over who have kids booked as well. And it seems as though P&O are kicking them off the ship.

Again this is my own personal view. As business models change and clientele changes as well. Cruise lines are fast trying to catch up to the market.

I know from other cruise lines that are’t Adult only. It is always going to a tough call to make that change over to only allowing 18 or 21 plus passengers on the ships. and forgoing the Family style cruises.
