$99 Cruise, Yes you heard it correctly. Carnival Cruise Line it taking the necessary steps to fill the Carnival Horizon as it awaits its return to PortMiami in the next few days.
In a letter handed to passengers on the ship right now, they are being offered the chance to extend their cruise, even more, turning what was an 8-day cruise now into a combined 14-day cruise.
As we know Hurricane Dorian is causing no end of challenges for both traveling guests and Cruise Lines alike. Both not knowing the exact path of the storm, and when or where it’s going to make landfall on the eastern seaboard of Florida.
The Carnival Horizon originally departed Miami on its scheduled 8-day cruise back on August 24, calling at stops in Aruba, Curacao, Grand Turk, and the Dominican Republic.
It’s return to port on the 1st September was brought forward a day as PortMiami closed to all marine traffic thus giving the option for those guests to disembark a day early or stay onboard and sail extra days at sea waiting out the storms possible landfall.
At the moment the Carnival Horizon is sailing off the southern tip of Florida between Key West and Cuba. Simply staying out of the way of any weather that Dorian might bring, at the same time waiting patiently waiting for the authorities at PortMiami to allow shipping traffic to return.

The letter handed to passenger currently onboard Carnival Horizon goes on to detail the following information. “PortMiami remains closed and is expected to reopen no earlier than Wednesday” We are awaiting news of when we can dock and once officials give us tp permission to dock we will proceed to the port.
“We now plan to operate a 3-day cruise, departing Wednesday, 9/04/19 and return Saturday, 9/07/19. We will visit Nassau on Tuesday from 9 am to 5.00 pm”

- Ocean View stateroom – $119 per person
- Balcony stateroom – $130 per person
- Suite stateroom – $169 per person

All guests on the current sailing will need to disembark, as usual, proceed through customs and can then return on board once they have rechecked in. All people wanting to take up the offer can speak to onboard staff at Guest Services to book the upcoming shortened voyage.
