Carnival Sunrise

So its take a few days for the weather to finally sort its self out and we are now starting to see Cruise Lines make changes to itineraries ahead of the expected bad weather from Tropical Storm Dorian

Royal Caribbean was the first to change schedules on 3 of its ships sailing this week. Now Carnival Cruise Line has taken action changing the scheduled cruise of the Carnival Sunrise.

In a letter delivered the cabins of guests onboard the Carnival Sunrise it was noted that the ships sailing from New York today ( 27th August 2019 ) will need to change routes.

Storm Dorian

“In conjunction with the Fleet Operations Center in Miami, we have been monitoring Tropical Storm Dorian in the Caribbean. In order to keep a safe distance from the storm, we are modifying the days and times for our port visits.

The letter goes on to say that as it’s still too early to speculate what changes might need to happen later in the week, guests will be informed if and when needed.

It’s very important to remember the Cruise Line will never put the lives of guests or crew in danger, and changing itineraries is a big step in keeping everyone safe. The ships’ captains will always keep a very safe distance from any untoward weather be it a Tropical Storm or Hurricane.

Tropical Storm Dorian Outlook

The National Weather Service is also taking a very cautious approach to what will happen in the coming days with its recent outlook.

” The threat of winds and heavy rain later this week into this weekend in the Turks & Caicos, Bahamas, and Florida is increasing. Residents in these areas should monitor the progress of Dorian and ensure that they have their hurricane plan in place”

Again we here at I Like Cruise Ships will continue to monitor the situation, if and when Cruise Lines change ships itineraries we will be the first to inform you.
