Mardi Gras Handover

Seas trials have begun for Carnival Cruise Lines newest and largest ship to date, Mardi Gras.

Eagle eyed ship spotters were out early to see the majestic vessel sail off on Sea Trials lasting 10 days.

Whilst out at sea the ships systems will be tested, most notably the LNG capabilities, owing to the fact the ship will be the first US based LNG cruise ship.

Sailing off from the Meyer Turku shipyard, the ship departure was heard by on watchers due to the first test of the ships systems. The ships fog horn, due to light fog in the area.

Sea trial and testing can last anywhere from 1 to 4 weeks, which is very normal, especially considering the complexity of cruise ships construction these days.

RedFrog Tiki Bar – Designed to transport guests to a South Pacific paradise, the new two-level RedFrog Tiki Bar is a twist on Carnival’s popular poolside bar with playful, rum-based cocktails in an island-inspired atmosphere decked out with tiki heads, floral patterns and vibrant colors. Alongside the vast food and beverage offerings, workers also continue finalizing the installation of BOLT, the first roller coaster at sea, as well as 2,600 staterooms, including 180 suites across 11 different categories.
