The 3,006-passenger Carnival Splendor and the 2,124-passenger Carnival Miracle are shown here transiting the Panama Canal en route to their new home ports of Long Beach, Calif., and Tampa, Fla. Both ships start new year-round programs from these ports tomorrow.
During the cruise, guests had the unforgettable opportunity to transit the Panama Canal – one of the Seven Wonders of the Modern World – and sail across Gatun Lake, one of the largest man-made lakes in the world, while visiting spectacular ports in the Caribbean, Mexico and Central and South America.
Upon its arrival in Long Beach, Carnival Splendor will operate seven-day cruises to the Mexican Riviera, as well as longer length voyages to Alaska and Hawaii from Long Beach, increasing capacity on these routes by 41 percent.
With the launch of Carnival Miracle’s 4 to 14-day cruises from Port Tampa Bay, Carnival is doubling its capacity at the port and further bolstering its position as the Caribbean cruise leader. Carnival Miracle will offer the only year-round longer-length cruise program from Tampa.
